Should I know how to skate first?

San Antonio, Texas

Oh my darling, but what if you fly? Come out and experience that insanely scary moment when you realize…You can do it.  The first person you see out on the track doing the amazing, started out just like you.

Yes, you can get injured. You will probably fall; bruises are the most common injuries.  Sprains and broken bones of course cannot be ruled out, but they are rare and are associated with all sports. For this reason, all skaters must wear protective gear and are encouraged to maintain current health insurance.  We also require every skater to have WFTDA insurance, which covers injuries at practices and bouts.

Roller skating is:

  • 2 times safer than playing on playground equipment
  • 3 times safer than football or baseball
  • 4 times safer than basketball
  • 5 times safer than bicycling

Of course!  Join us Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm.  This is our designated “Meet & Greet” night.  You will get the opportunity to meet the coaches and newest skaters to get their honest opinions and tips.

Definitely not, we coach every level of skater and assist you individually with what you need to know, encouraging you every step of the way. Derby-style skating is a truly unique experience, even the best skaters will be challenged.

Can I try it to see if I like it?

What if I fall?
